About Us

Established in 1981, delivering customized third party distribution services to luxury brands in multiple industries, Ferguson Associates provides invisible, high quality, physical operations and order administration to facilitate time for clientele to develop, market, sell and grow their brands.

Ferguson Associates is an invisible 3rd party pick/pack warehousing facility and container freight station that functions within the framework of your accounting system, eliminating the need to transfer data between systems.  Your customers receive documentation/communication from YOUR distribution center.

Ferguson Associates was founded in 1981 by Robert Ferguson who previously served as Vice President of Operations for both Chanel Perfumes and Ralph Lauren Fragrance Groups.

We are a family run business.  Warehouse Operations are managed by son, Ron Ferguson, who joined the business upon college graduation.  Administration is managed by wife, Maria Ferguson, who previously worked 25+ years with a Fortune 500 company and 3+ years with a small privately owned distribution business.  

All Fergusons maintain HazMat Certification to handle the fragrance industry commodity safely and legally.

Ferguson Associates is a bonded licensed Container Freight Station

A CFS is a facility where shared containerized international shipments are taken directly from the port/airport to be cleared of all applicable duties/taxes then released for distribution.  Our close proximity to Port Elizabeth and all 3 New York area airports, makes it ideal. To expedite shared container shipments, simply have your broker/forward consign the freight to clear customs through Ferguson Associates, then skip the wait and freight charges associated with shared shipments.

Our clients are excellent at marketing and selling products, but don't absorb overhead (space/staff/equipment) associated with order fulfillment, nor do they need to stay abreast of ever changing requirements for handling/shipping hazardous materials associated with the fragrance industry.

We are currently taking applications for the following positions: 

Administration & Data Entry

Hours: Must be available to work 8:30-5pm, 40 hours per week

Position QUALIFICATIONS Required:

  • Self Starter

  • Must be computer savvy with multiple programs (include programs and level of knowledge in response).

  • Must be very comfortable with MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of EDI, Sage, MsAccess, Quickbooks and/or Mas90 is a plus.

  • Must be extremely detailed oriented and accurate

  • Must be able to type a minimum of 45 wpm (test may be given at interview).

  • Must be able to communicate via email and by phone effectively in English

  • Must be able to multitask and work as a Team Player

  • Must be seeking long term employment (no job jumpers)

  • Must supply previous work references

  • Prefer local candidates (within 10 miles of Edison, NJ)

  • Must be capable of passing drug testing and software knowledge testing suitable for position

Position Duties could include any/all of these tasks:

  • QuickBooks Enterprise and/or Sage order entry, picking slip, packing slip and invoice generation

  • Import EDI orders into Accounting Software

  • Follow up on order status via daily use and review of open order/unapproved reporting

  • Answering email correspondence

  • Following routing guide instructions (as applicable).

  • Preparation of shipment Manifest/BOL/Master Bill as required by individual customer needs

  • Carrier communication (pickups), including FedEx and common carriers

  • Maintain Business Files as appropriate

  • Month end reporting/balancing and sending to clients (must be available to work late on last business day of each month)

  • Professionally answer phones, handle calls and take messages

  • Assist in the daily maintenance necessary to keep office areas clean and professional looking including special and routine tasks.

Material Handler

Hours: Must be available to work 7:30-4pm, 40 hours per week

Position QUALIFICATIONS Required:

  • Communicate clearly in both written and verbal English

  • Have basic math skills

  • Stand during the work day

  • Lift 40 lbs regularly

  • Work in a fast-paced environment within a group or individually

  • Manage time effectively

  • Must be 18+ and have High School diploma or equivalent and reliable transportation.

Position Duties could include any/all of these tasks:

  • Primarily responsible for order picking, checking, scanning, packing orders

  • Receiving, inspecting and stocking new product receipts

  • General inventory control

  • General warehouse maintenance such as cutting/assembly of boxes, sweeping floors, clearing debris.
